OAAA Awards Buntin Out-of-Home Media Two of the Top Three National Planning Awards

November 05, 2007

Nashville, Tenn. (November 5, 2007) – The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) honored The Buntin Group and Buntin Out-of-Home Media, the agency’s outdoor media management division, with 2007 Out of Home Media Planning Awards for outdoor advertising efforts for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Partnership for a Drug-Free America.

Representing two of the top three awards presented, Buntin Out-Of-Home Media won in the Local category for its statewide effort, "Leading the Way to Better Health" campaign, promoting BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, and, for the first time, the judges chose to honor a public service campaign with a special award, recognizing The Buntin Group’s "Infected by Meth" campaign for the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. The third award was presented to PHD/OMA for the "Talk to Chuck" campaign for Charles Schwab.

Out of home was a significant part of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s integrated campaign which helped reposition the state’s dominant health insurance company as a "better health" and "better life" provider. The "Infected by Meth" campaign focused on the collateral damage meth causes, relying on non-traditional out of home elements to educate citizens and motivate communities to take action on the actual streets where the problem exists.

The OAAA is the largest trade association representing the outdoor advertising industry.
